• For five weeks, we were fortunate enough to call this wonderful home in the Algarve our own – and it was an exceptionally enriching time in every respect. From the moment you arrive, you can feel the care, taste, and love that went into creating this place. The harmonious proportions of the house, the sound construction, and the natural surroundings form a soothing whole, offering peace, strength, and a sense of grounding. Pure nature – inside and out.

    We would especially like to commend our hosts – their helpfulness goes far beyond the ordinary. They were always there for us in every way, attentive, warm, and present without ever being intrusive. Even with completely unrelated questions, we could rely on their valuable advice, experience, and openness – a gift that further enriched our stay.

    This home is more than just accommodation. It's a place to arrive, breathe deeply, and feel at ease. We are grateful for this time and take with us many wonderful impressions and memories. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking authenticity, naturalness, and warm hospitality.

  • Back from my Portuguese paradise!

    I was able to enjoy the peace and quiet and the beautiful, tranquil surroundings for a whole month.

    All my wishes were fulfilled by the lovely owners.

    We visited wonderful, authentic places, far from the crowds.

    Oh, I could go on and on... it was simply wonderful to have such a beautiful place for a break. It's a shame that every vacation has to end.

  • Monte das Mares – a beautiful, idyllic property. The holiday home was well-equipped; nothing was lacking, either inside or out! The terrace and roof terrace with barbecue area and outdoor kitchen were ideal for breakfast and cozy evenings grilling.

    The holiday home is furnished with great attention to detail. The architecture is understated and in keeping with the local style. We immediately felt comfortable and welcome. The owners live in another house on the property, which wasn't at all disruptive. They both gave us a friendly and very helpful welcome in every way and were always discreetly available with advice. Whether it was about restaurants, shopping, beaches, sightseeing, etc., they were always happy to help. All the small towns and beaches of the Algarve were easily accessible by car from there.

  • Simply a beautiful oasis of tranquility. Every detail is perfect. Everything is harmoniously furnished with sustainable and locally sourced materials whenever possible. And then there's the huge garden with its rooftop terrace. We ate outside whenever we could. That's what a holiday feels like for us.

    And the incredibly warm and welcoming hosts! Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back.

  • We spent our holiday with a couple of friends in November at Monte das Marés. The mood, the peace, the light and the atmosphere really blew us away. The location of the house alone was really worth its weight in gold - you could enjoy the most beautiful sights in no time at all. And as soon as we came back, the warm ambience of the house welcomed us. An all-round successful holiday, we can recommend everything without reservation. Thanks to Nele and Fred for the lovely welcome.

  • We spent the first week of July with Nele and Fred with our two small children (3 and 1 year old) and were overwhelmed. The house is a dream. An incredibly creative combination of old and new, of simple minimalism and traditional details. There are two almost identical bedrooms and bathrooms and a very well-equipped kitchen (finally sharp knives!). There is also a huge roof terrace with BBQ facilities. There are many beaches that can be reached by car in 25-40 minutes. Nele and Fred are the perfect hosts with lots of ideas and inspiration for the area and help with everything you need. Our stay gave our children a great time with the huge area, outdoor shower and us lots of ideas and inspiration. We would love to come back. It was perfect. Thank you for everything, dear Nele and dear Fred!

  • A house - an event! Our children (14, 15) and we enjoyed every minute of our stay in this incredibly tasteful house. The former farmhouse is wonderfully designed and furnished down to the smallest detail. The peace and quiet on the large property, the views from the roof terrace, cooking in the spacious kitchen - all this and much more will remain in our memories. Nele and her husband were extremely friendly and helpful.

  • We were very touched by the place: wonderful views and insights, enjoyable moments and lots of inspiration that we were able to take with us after four days in Nele and Fred's "Bijoux". And the wool blanket from Nele's studio continues to warm us on cool evenings. We would love to come back!
